I've been a fan of Coldplay for quite some time... actually, I think they're up there with one of my all time favorites (and will probably stay there!). If you haven't heard the news, Coldplay has just released one of their latest songs from their album (yet to hit the shelves) on their website... it's a free download, and a good one at that. Check it out.
This weekend Courtney's parents came to town and while we had a great time with them, there were very few photos of interest that I want to post... ok, I didn't take my camera out at all... we were just enjoying the weekend. :)
Aside from the fact that I don't have actual photos to share, I do have some "culture" that Courtney and I have enjoyed over the last several days that I'd like to share. Now I know that this movie came out a while back, but we tend to save a few bucks and just see movies when they come out on video... besides, I hate it when people kick the back of my chair in a movie theatre... watching it at home kills two birds with one stone (cheaper AND more relaxing).
If you haven't seen Juno, you should check it out... it's hilarious, well made, and I enjoyed the soundtrack as well. I know this might sound a little dumb to any of you that don't care for the more "artistic" movies, but I'll admit that I got excited about the movie when I saw how they made the opening credits somewhat illustrated along with the video... here's what I mean. It kinda reminded me (in a similar fashion) of another one of my favorite movies, Stranger than Fiction.

These guys have a new album out and they're hilarious. "Business Time" and "The Most Beautiful Girl" are some of their better songs.

I came across this video from Brody's blog and I love the spin that Phil put on the song...
Oh, and it just so happens that it's raining here today, so this is your "rainy day" music video. Coincidence?
I.
Think.
Not.

And what would experiencing "culture" be without a little food? This place just went in down the road not too long ago and I'd highly recommend them. I ordered the prime rib and while it was really good, I think Courtney took home the prize for best dinner for ordering their mint lamb chops with strawberries (yeah, you heard me, strawberries)... oh, and you have to pair it with their feature wine (I think it was the Ghost Pines Cabernet) Not that Courtney and I are anywhere near connesuers of fine wine, but it sure gave my favorite cabernet a run for it's money... definitely will pick up a bottle next time I see it in the store.
The other day I had the pleasure of meeting with Mike to take some promo pieces for him. Mike is an incredibly talented musician who not only plays guitar, but drums as well... must be one of those guys that just "picked it up" and it "fell into place" (sorry, little inside joke). Anyways, like I said, Mike is quite the musician and was a blast to hang out with... check him out on tour with Daniel Renstrom or Shelly Moore Band.
Oh, and if you see Mike around, you should ask him about his new sponsorship with Gibson Guitars... he just picked up his beautiful, new, J-45 and it sounds incredible.
This weekend I had the pleasure of traveling down to Charleston to assist my friend, and amazing photographer, Charles Bordner (aka "The Storyteller"). I absolutely love shooting in Charleston... it's such a quaint town rich in history and tradition.
The day began with at the Mills House Inn where the guys were hanging out and getting prepped for the day...
and then before you knew it, we were at the church and ready for the ceremony...
There are just some songs that take me back. Take for instance, John Mayer's No Room for Squares album... it was the first album that Courtney and I made out to (she's gonna kill me for posting that!). Seriously though, that album is incredible... obviously for sentimental reasons, but still great nonetheless. So I'm curious, what's your first "make out song" (or album)???? If you can't remember that far back, or just plain don't know, what do you *wish* was your make out song?
Oh, and don't leave me hangin' out to dry... I know ya'll kiss and make out, so leave a comment below!
