something to entertain...

Tuesday, March 31, 2009  |  PERSONAL

So this weekend's wedding was great and I had a blast being back in Charleston. It's always great to photograph with friends... it just seems to make the day all the more enjoyable. I'll post more on the wedding later, but I wanted to share with you a few videos that I came across while uploading a recent photo shoot (it's great to be able to multi-task)

I'm a huge Coldplay fan, but their music videos aren't always the best... until now. I thought this was absolutely brilliant. Watch it 'till the end. It's hilarious.

And then I came across this video from a great design firm here in NC. Not to be a nerd, but considering the commercial was for Microsoft, I thought they did a great job. Let's face it, Apple's commercials and overall "look" just seems to reign supreme (nerd alert).

What's on rotation...

Tuesday, March 31, 2009  |  PERSONAL

With all the current news of doom and gloom I've begun finding comfort through my own personal quiet times studying the Word and finding passage after passage of God's provision for His people... what a great comfort and promise!

I'm sure there are many of you reading this blog that are encountering times of uncertainty and frustration. I'm also sure there are also many of you who don't know where to turn or how the decisions you make today will play out in the coming weeks... rest assured, if you're found in Christ you can have complete certainty and comfort in Him. I'm not trying to preach at you, but simply offer a word of encouragement. Here's a song that I've had on rotation from my good friend, Daniel Renstrom. It's called, "Where Could I Go"

Here's the lyrics to the song::

Grace so amazing, so divine
Came after me when I was blind
Awakened affections for the Son
Taught my heart to fear, with love

And if in sin rescue came to me
How much more, will you now be with me

And where could I go, where could I go
That you are not with me
The darkest of night, to You will be light
and you are still with me

My debt was pardoned at the cross
Christ's blood spilled, redemption bought
The Father was pleased, to bruise His Son
for rebels opposed, like this one

Creative Week...

Wednesday, March 11, 2009  |  PERSONAL

While driving back from Ohio this weekend I received a call from my good friend, Daniel Renstrom saying that he saw a twitter post from Jeremy Cowart (if you're not familiar with his photography, you should really check it out) saying that he was around for most of the afternoon on Monday and would have limited availability if anyone wanted to hang out. By the time we responded his availability had already closed. Bummer, right? Well, it just so happens that one of the people that was able to get some time with Jeremy was our good friend (and talented musician) Shelly Moore and she gave us the rundown on where to meetup... good to have friends in the creative realm, eh? We mainly hung out and talked about everything from art to life on the road (Jeremy is stepping in as the tour photographer for Britney Spears), but overall it was just cool to hang with a group of like-minded friends. Everyone needs that at times, right?

Anyway, this week has been quite a blur of constant meetings and phone calls, but I'm so thankful to meet and make new friends with each passing! Here's a quick snapshot of the group from Monday (we needed an extra person around to take the photo, so there's one with myself and then one with Shelly and the rest of the group... in case you wondered)

Perspective...

Wednesday, March 4, 2009  |  PERSONAL

I saw this on a friend's blog this morning and thought it was very appropriate for our society today... funny, but appropriate at the same time. Thoughts? (side note :: if you're reading this in you RSS feeder you may want to hop over to the actual blog so that you can check out the video)
