The team over at Grace Ormonde Wedding Style has been nothing but first rate and it clearly shows in their attention to detail throughout each publication. 'Round my head...

Wednesday, January 7, 2009  |  PERSONAL

Hope everyone's been having a good week. Thanks so much for all of your prayers and words of encouragement. It's much appreciated.

Thought I'd share with you a song that's been going 'round my head for the last few days (if you're reading this in your RSS feeder, please hop over to the actual blog to check it out). The video is, well, not the most awe-inspiring or creative thing you've ever seen, but the song is great. What's the song that you have playing in your head? **Side note** For some reason, every morning I wake up with a song in my head. Not sure why. I'm curious, does anyone else do this?

Out of the office...

Sunday, January 4, 2009  |  NEWS

It is with a heavy heart that I write to you today. I would love to write about the latest photo shoot that I've been on or a great vacation that was spent with my wife, but sadly we've received news of a dear family member (my wife's aunt) that has passed away. As a result, time in the office will be limited this week as we attend to personal matters.

Jody (my wife's aunt) was a great person to be around and I recall from the moment I married into the family she welcomed me with open arms. There was never a dull moment whenever Jody was around and she was always a good sport with all the bantering that took place at family gatherings. As much as my wife and I love to recall memories of her, our hearts are saddened as we mourn her loss.

I believe that whenever events such as these take place it causes us to re-evaluate what our life is all about. As much as I would love to tell you that photography is my heart and soul, I'd be missing the mark completely and misleading you. I'm in a business where I have the privilege of getting to know couples and all the nuances of their relationship... it just seems to come out in conversation. Yet for all of the clients that have become friends (in one way or another) my heart longs for each one of them to have a deeper, eternal relationship; a relationship with Christ. You see, there is more to this life than the 9 to 5 job, more than spending time with family, even more than your new engagement or marriage. I'm not going to preach at you as I'm sure some of you are already tuning out... I just want to ask each one of you if you're certain of where you'd be for eternity if you passed. Do you know with all certainty? Maybe you have questions that need answering. If so, our church just finished up a series called "Why I'm Not a Christian" that may help to answer some of the questions you may have.please check this out if you're the least bit curious

If you've read this far, thank you. To be honest, I really struggle with keeping this blog as business oriented as possible but if you know my heart, you know that I sincerely desire for those of you reading this blog (whether clients or not) to fully understand that you can have more in this life, and that is why I write. This is purely from my heart and you don't have to agree with me, but I thank you for taking an interest.
