Zack - Fun post! I'm waiting for something to compile, so this is my entertainment in the meantime... I am most definitely not a pro photographer, and, except in the most geeky way, there's very little beauty in my profession of developing software, but I do appreciate when someone else creates or captures something beautiful. I have a theory that, created in the image of Creator God, we all have a part of us that wants to create something, but in the end, we usually just end up trying to capture what God has already made in a way that does it some form of justice. Music, photography, painting... I think they're all ultimately just trying to help us see God's creation through various lenses. I especially enjoy when someone writes a song that helps articulate an aspect of life that I have experienced but not been able to put into words. John Mayer is actually a really good example of someone who does this well: "So scared of getting older // I'm only good at being young // So I play the numbers game to find a way to say that life has just begun" I DO THAT! I didn't even realize I was doing that until he put it that way. Anyways, one thing I find inspirational is my son. I love capturing a look of curiosity or wonder on his face. I try to aspire to be like that. OK. End of rant. Back to work... 2.18.10 at 2:36pm
